Design and Quality
Aftershokz calls the design of the Trekz Air the “OpenFit” design. As the conductors sit before your ear, you will be aware of what’s happening around you. They took it a step further by featuring mute buttons on the left conductor. Pressing this will immediately cancel out the music, and you can enter a conversation or cross the road safely.
The Aftershokz Trekz Air comes with a thin neckband but has a lot of flex to it. This is mostly because of the fact that Aftershokz uses titanium to build their headphones. As a result, the headphones are so flexible that you can twist and turn them.

The Trekz Air is comfortable too. Due to its titanium build, the headphones weigh only thirty grams. The soft silicone coating mixed with their unique design makes sure the headphones stay in place no matter what activity you’re performing.

Setting up the Aftershokz Trekz Air is rather easy. With the voice companion built-in, you will know when you connect to your phone. On each side of the headphones, you will find a compartment that houses the batteries and the buttons you will need. On the right side, you will find the volume control and with each press, you will hear an audio feedback. When the volume has reached its highest, you will hear a high pitch sound telling you that the volume has reached its peak.
When it comes to sound, the Aftershokz Trekz Air is decent but good for the gym and your workplace. In the gym you will find the sound decent enough, however, in busier places, you will find the volume and bass failing you. Therefore, it’s best if you use this in quieter places.
Because of the lightweight design, the battery life of the headphones isn’t that great. With the Trekz Air, you’re getting a six-hour battery life, which is hardly enough to last you through the day. However, with the quick-charge mode, you can charge these up in fifteen minutes and get playback time worth an hour.
If you’re using these headphones for gym-only, then the battery will last you through your workout session. Other than that, the battery life might disappoint you. If you want a bone conduction headphone for the gym or when you’re running, these are great. However, if you’re buying these for all-day listening and sonic performance, you should invest in something else.
