Apple AirPod 2019 Design
When Apple announced, they are bringing out the AirPod 2; everyone expected loads of added features in the brand-new version. So has Apple kept its word? The truth is that they did not add many functions like waterproofing or noise-canceling. The only thing that changed is the new H1 chip for wireless charging. Therefore, what do you get with the AirPod 2? You get the option of choosing a standard charging case, or for a bit more, you get the new wireless charging case instead.
With the standard charging case, the price remains the same as the AirPod, but to use the benefits of the wireless charging, you will need to pay more. Alternatively, you can purchase the wireless charging case separate if you already have the AirPods gen 1. When it comes to design, there is no difference between the 2nd gen and original AirPods. The only difference is that the new case has a line of LED lights to check the status of the charging.
When fully charged, it is green and orange if not charged? With the charging case, you get up to twenty hours of battery use with an extra five hours using the buds alone. Furthermore, Apple said that the 2nd generation offers more than three hours of talk-time. Using the charging case is quick and is Qi-compatible, as well. When it comes to wearing the buds, they are comfortable but not made for running.
Is there a difference in performance?
When it comes to performance, it is the same as the first-gen. The only thing it does provide is excellent connectivity. Pairing your Apple device is quicker with the AirPod 2nd gen earbuds.
Once you open the case, an option to pair your device displays on the phone screen. You can also view the battery status as well.
Furthermore, you get hands-free use with SIRI to make calls and play music. The function works excellent with the integrated microphone, even in noisy places.
Alternatively, you can double-tap on the buds to summon SIRI. On the other hand, you can use it with Bluetooth on your phone.
You can also connect it with your Android device but does not provide you with automatic pairing but remains quick. We found that the new H1 chip offers you twice the speed to switch between devices.
Another benefit is that you have no latency when answering calls or playing games.
Has anything changed with the audio quality?
In honesty, nothing has changed as you still get the same lively presentation but can sound harsh on high frequencies. You can hear the vocals clear, but the bass is slightly overwhelmed. Even the treble sometimes is harsh.
However, the sound remains excellent in mid-frequency tunes hearing the guitar keys. The call quality is unique as it filters out background noise.
So if you need to make calls on the go, these earbuds are top-notch. For the best audio sound with more bass, we recommend the Elite Active 65t and Bose SoundSport Free instead.

Should You Buy It?
If you have never used AirPod, the new version is worth buying. The AirPod 2nd Gen remains the best true-wireless buds available on the market. You get fast pairing with wireless charging and hands-free use with SIRI. However, if you already own the original AirPods, you can dish out some extra bucks and purchase the wireless charging case extra. Nothing much has changed as the designs identical to the older model, and the audio remains the same. For the executive on the move using the buds for making and receiving calls is fantastic. But if you are active in sports, we do not recommend using the AirPod 2nd Gen. Instead, you can look at the Jabra Elite Active 65t that is water-resistant as well.
In honesty, nothing much has changed with AirPod 2 except for the new wireless charging case. When it comes to sound and design, it is the same as the original AirPod. You do have the option of buying the case separately but it is expensive compared to other competitors. So if you want to purchase your 1st true-wireless headphones, the AirPod 2 is worth looking at. You can enjoy the automatic connection with easy setup using your Apple device.
