Bose SoundSport Free Review

Bose SoundSport Free, True Wireless Sport Headphones, (Sweatproof Bluetooth Headphones for Workouts), Midnight Blue with Citron

Design of the Bose SoundSport Free

The SoundSport Free is a wireless earphone that is ideal to use with most activities. You get the “StayHear+ sport tips” that comfortably lock the buds to seal out external noise.

To adjust the volume, you have built-in buttons on the earbuds. We found the buttons tiny and stiff to use but work well. You can skip tracks forward with a double click using your fingernail on the middle button.

Our biggest problem we found is the buds that protrude out of your ear and is not very discreet. As the buds are big Bose equipped the wireless earphone with big sized batteries to last up to five hours.

Included is a case for charging the earbuds providing you with extra charges making up ten-hours of battery use? The holder is enormous and not lightweight compared to the Apple AirPods case.

Furthermore, the in-ear headphones are IPX4 water-resistant and perfect for using with sports. Another highlight we found surprising is the “Find My Buds” function available on the app that is a great help.

Moreover, with the same application, you can update the firmware of the buds as well. Also we had no problems with audio syncing pairing the buds with our phone.

However, you may find a touch of lag at times when watching flicks. Another disappointing thing is that the sound only comes from the right bud, leaving you with a mono sound but performs well.

How does the SoundSport Free Sound?

We did find some clarity missing as the highs are a bit recessed, but for running you get loads of bass. Even the midrange sounds natural and warm.

What’s more, they sound open and play loud enough to work up a sweat. When in a quiet room, you can hear the bass sounds bloated, giving it a dull edge.

However, when walking the streets, the bass is toned down as it is competing with the external noise. A fact is that with the way Bose tuned it, the sounds smoother and ideal for outdoor use.

Is the Wireless Earphones Made for You

Are you an active person partaking in sports, the SoundSport Free is able to endure the exploitation of workouts. With the “StayHear+ ear tips” they fit comfortably in the ear and keep its place.

Another highlight is that if you own the newest USB-C smartphone, you can quickly connect the buds to your phone. Alternatively, you will need to use a dongle.

Moreover, it has no wires getting in the way and even works well. However, the earbuds not made for the office as it does not provide noise isolation.

On the other hand, before buying them, you need to know they are not discrete as the driver casing is massive and sticks out of the ears a bit.

Our Verdict

The Bose SoundSport Free offers you a rich wireless sound. Furthermore, the buds sweat and water-resistant making them great companions for indoor and outdoor activities.

Another fantastic thing is that we found the charging case a great help to provide additional charges while on the go. The only problem we have is that the in-ear headphones not discrete which is not comparable to the AirPods.

Furthermore, the case is a bit huge but not too big, but it remains one of the best wireless headphones available. You get a comfortable and secure fit with a good sound.

Once you try them on, you will not even think of returning to the SoundSport Wireless headphones. So if you want to enjoy freedom of movement these are the earphones to have.

You can enjoy up to five hours of music with extra 10-hours using the charging case. Furthermore, you can track your buds if lost with the Bose Connect App feature, as well.

Even making and receiving calls is excellent with the dual microphones on the right earbud. Now you can jump around in the gym without worrying that the earbuds will get spoiled or lost.
