JBL Reflect Mini 2 Review

When it comes to choosing your color, JBL provides you with four stunning shades: black, light blue, dark blue, and neon green. Furthermore, each shade comes with a reflective neckband. For activities, JBL has made sure the headsets IPX5 rated protecting it from low water streaming. Therefore, you can enjoy a jog in the rain using these earphones. You get three pairs of tips and fins for a comfortable fit. We found the silicone ear tips and ear hook pleasant, and it did not fall out of our ears. You can even manage the cable along the neckband. Furthermore, you get a protective pouch, but what is annoying is that it does not shut securely.

Moreover, you get an in-line remote/mic on the left bud for hands-free use. On the other hand, there is a three-button remote to handle playback and calls. You also get voice assistance while on the side panel, you have a snap-shut compartment protecting the USB charging port. You get a micro USB cable included, as well. Using the mic with your voice memos app on an iPhone is excellent. However, while you can hear every word the audio was a bit fuzzy. Therefore, do not expect outstanding call clarity. The battery use is about 10-hours but can vary depending on the volume levels used.

JBL Reflect Mini 2 Performance

When listening to intense tracks, you get a low-frequency bass thump. During high levels, you have no distortion with strong bass. However, compared to other in-ear wireless headphones do not get loud. The loudest level is still intense, but the drivers do go off before it gets too loud. The bass depth remains tangible throughout different volume ranges. Listening to audio with less deep bass gives a better sound signature as the drums do not sound over the top.

You do get full low-mid performance, but it is balanced out with the high-mids accentuating the treble in vocals. When listening to vocals, you get a crisp clear sound, while orchestral tunes give you a stronger bass presence. While running at night the reflective cord glows well and makes for an excellent safety feature. The only problem you will have when running outdoors is that the noise-isolation is good and not hearing the traffic can become a problem. Even making calls is pretty good as people could hear us without any problems.

Yes, if you enjoy working out with a bass sound. The JBL Reflect Mini 2 will not disappoint you as the fits secure, and the design is excellent. You get a reflective cord that is great for motorists to see you at night. However, if you want an accurate sound signature the headset is not for you. Instead, you can look at the JBL Reflect Fit that is a reliable alternative for sound and price.

Our Verdict

We found the JBL Reflect Mini 2 offers you excellent battery life and holds a charge well. The earbuds remain in your ear even during strenuous workouts. Our only complaint is that the audio is not loud, and sometimes it does lack bass. We are not saying the sound quality is terrible and you need to push the buds deep into the ear. So we would not recommend the Reflect Mini 2 if you are looking for heavy bass or loud volumes. The headset is super light, and we can recommend it for everyday use from commuting to the gym.
