Samsung Level U Bluetooth Headphone Design

Samsung Level U Bluetooth Headphone Review

When you look at the Samsung Level U wireless earphones, it seems like a cross between the LG Tone and Bose headphones. The earbuds sit loosely in your ear and have a lightweight design that is well-constructed. The earbuds made for users who prefer not having ear tips jammed into the ears. The neckband is lightweight and shaped like a “horseshoe.” We found the ear tips comfortable, and the headband placed around the neck comfy as well. For a tight seal, we started with the Hybrid Gels. The buds were okay but did not stay in the ear. However, to resolve the issue we used the stabilizing wing ear gels instead. Both the gel tips are only in once size and fit a wide selection of ears.

Therefore one size fits all. Compared to the LG Tone the earbuds of the Level U are magnetic as well. They clasp together and dangle on the chest, and at the time we forgot we had the earphones on. That is why so many people love wireless headphones as you leave them and stick the buds or one in the ear. On the other hand, you get a dual-mic to reduce noise from interfering with your calls or music. With the noise reductions, it helps when receiving calls, but with the open design, we found some sound leaks. So for using in noisy environments, we cannot recommend the Samsung Level U. On the right side of the neckband you get a set of a button to play or stop the music. You use the same switch to answer/end calls, as well. The button is placed well and easy to operate. Moreover, you get the headphones in two shades, black, blue, and gold. Included, you also get a micro-USB charging cable.

Samsung Level U Bluetooth Headphone Performance

When it comes to performance, Level U offers you decent battery life and sound. The playback time is ten hours. You are informed with voice prompts advising you that the earphones on or in pairing mode. Furthermore, when receiving a call, the neckband vibrates that is a nice feature to have. For Android users, there is a free Level app available to control the settings of the earphones. You can set the headphones to read-only text notifications out to you.

What we did find disappointing is that the earphones not sweat or waterproof. However, during our test in the gym, they worked well, and running on a treadmill the buds remained secure in the ear. For testing the connection we used both the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. We did not notice a sound difference when switching from one device to another. The 12mm drivers sound decent when listening to less demanding tunes. Where the Level U fails is in the bass department and listening to complicated tracks. On the other hand, the earphones well-balanced, giving you a reasonable bass sound. On the other hand, the bass is not tight and can distort when listening to higher levels.

Even with an eclectic mix, the sound is not clear with a deep bass compared to the LG Tone. The headphone is not made for critical listeners but will work well with casual listeners instead. During our test making calls, the other person heard us clear in a less noisy environment. On the other hand, we did not find the wireless connection the best as we had some hiccups when walking around. At times the connection was stable when sitting at a desk.

Should You Buy It?

Yes, if you want a comfortable wireless headphone that does not jam into the ears. Level U offers you comfort and style at the same time. You can listen to your music on the go, and it has dual microphones to help with noise reduction when making calls. The sound is excellent but not as good as the LG Tone models. On the other hand, you can get up to ten hours of battery use that is ideal for a two-hour flight when traveling.

Our Verdict

We did not find the most exceptional sound using Level U headphones. However, we did find them comfortable to wear. Even using them was a breeze making them recommendable for travels. The Samsung Level U is an excellent in-ear earphone if you do not like ear tips jammed into your ears. The price is something to consider if you are looking for the best stereo headset. We found using the earphones reasonable for making/receiving calls. On the other hand, you get a sophisticated design with moderate battery power as well. While the connectivity is not always as it should be once paired, you can customize it using the Level app. So if you are business-minded and need a pair of wireless headphones informing you of notifications (phone calls, alarms, and scheduled events) you will find the Samsung Level U a pleasure to use.
